Residency training support team:
It can be useful during your residency to team up with other residents for support and study groups. We often help each other with our publications. Two publications I was involved with were 'Neoureterocystostomy for the management of a ureteral-uterine stump fistula as a complication post ovariohysterectomy and is authored by Dr Fiona Coghill (ARH Canberra), myself and Adjunct Professor Philip Moses. This was an interesting complication seen post ovariohysterectomy. The ureter had been iatrogenically ligated with the uterine stump and had gone on to form a fistula leading to urine passing directly from the ureter to the uterine stump and vagina! The great news is that post neoureterocystostomy the dog was immediately continent.
The second is titled 'Renal salvage following traumatic herniation of the kidney in a dog' C Thomson, SA Porter, RA Mitchell and myself.
