When you become a member of the ANZCVS college, one of the advantages is you can be nominated for various awards. There are all sorts of awards you can apply for and it is worth taking a look at the college website (link below). You don't need to be in a training programme to apply. https://www.anzcvs.org.au/awards/ This award was the ANZCVS travel grant, for contribution to the surgical chapter. The grant was put towards my travel to the USA for the main surgical conference ACVS and my visit to UC Davis, the top veterinary school in the world, for my surgical externship. It's always worth applying for grants, scholarships, research funds etc in my opinion - you have nothing to lose.
